CentraCare has grown to meet the needs of the communities in central, west central and southwest Minnesota. It is now one of the largest health systems in Minnesota. It is a physician-driven, multi-disciplinary system including eight hospitals in St. Cloud, Long Prairie, Melrose, Monticello, Paynesville, Redwood Falls, Sauk Centre and Willmar. There are more than 30 clinics, 11 senior housing facilities and seven long-term care facilities throughout the area. It employs more than 12,700 people and has more than 900 providers. The system serves more than 700,000 people in a 18+ county area and offers a variety of outreach services to more than 35 communities. CentraCare is a collaborative group of Central Minnesota healthcare professionals, working together to provide comprehensive, high-quality care, close to home. CentraCare has Placed in the top five, in the large company category, for the past seven years of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal Best Place to Work in Minnesota.
St. Cloud Hospital is Central Minnesota's largest and most comprehensive regional medical center. Licensed for 489 beds, with over 450 physicians representing 40 medical and surgical specialties, the hospital has been named a "Top 100”Hospital and a "Top 100 Heart Hospital" eight times and is a designated Magnet hospital since 2004. It puts pride in retaining caring, skilled professionals who are committed to quality.
Designated as a Level II Trauma Center, with over 60,000 ER visits /year St. Cloud Hospital has the busiest helipad in the state of Minnesota.
St. Cloud Hospital is one of 57 hospitals in the nation with strong ratings in the handling of two chronic conditions, COPD and heart failure, and seven surgical procedures, including: Heart bypass surgery and aortic valve surgery. St. Cloud Hospital also ranks in the Top 50 nationally in Cardiology & Heart Surgery.
