Exciting Opportunity: Tailored Teaching Position for a Passionate Family Medicine Physician
The University of Minnesota/CentraCare St. Cloud Family Medicine Residency program has an open position that can be uniquely tailored to the right candidate who is enthusiastic about preparing our next generation of physicians for rural practice. Whether you're passionate about clinical teaching, maternity care, inpatient medicine, or program development, we are committed to creating a role that aligns with your strengths and interests.
Available Options for Teaching Position:
Core Faculty
0.7 to 1.0 FTE
Blended academic and clinical role: approx. 35% resident precepting, 35% clinical care in the residency clinic, and 30% administrative/curriculum development. Key contributor to teaching, mentorship, and Lifestyle Medicine curriculum advancement.
Program Faculty - Clinical Precepting
0.1–0.2 FTE (2–4 days/month)
Ambulatory teaching role supervising residents in continuity clinic. Maintain your own clinical practice within or outside CentraCare. Optional inpatient and/or maternity call available.
Inpatient Faculty
0.1–0.2 FTE (6–8 weeks/year)
Serve as attending on the residency inpatient service, teaching and supervising residents during hospital rotations. Opportunity for expanded FTE available.

- Must be BE/BC and able to obtain a MN License.
- Experience as a Family Medicine Physician
Pay and Benefits
- Starting pay (first year) begins at $289,918 per year or $307,918 per year when doing OB; exact wage determined by years of related experience
- Second year salary range: $322,000 to $343,000
- Salary and salary range are based on a 1.0 FTE, reduced FTE will result in a prorated offer rate

Comprehensive, Rural-Focused Training
Full-spectrum family medicine education with dedicated preparation for rural practice, including a rural training partnership with Willmar Family Medicine Rural Training Program.
Collaborative, Close-Knit Learning Environment
18 residents in a 6-6-6 cohort model fostering strong mentorship, teamwork, and longitudinal relationships in a residency clinic built on team-based care for a diverse and medically vulnerable population.
Robust Clinical & Academic Foundation
Inpatient training at St. Cloud Hospital, a 489-bed regional referral center in St. Cloud, sponsored by the University of Minnesota and closely aligned with the University of Minnesota Medical School through its St. Cloud regional campus.
